Shopping and Markets of Turkey

Cevahir Shopping Center Istanbul | My reviews + Access way + Shops

If your hotel, like mine, is located on the European side of Istanbul, near the Şişli district and the Büyükdere neighborhood, I highly recommend visiting Cevahir Shopping Center Istanbul located in this area. In my opinion, this shopping center is one of the best and oldest malls in Istanbul. Since it is situated in the upscale Şişli area, you should expect higher prices there.

During my stay in Istanbul, I visited this mall several times, shopped at various stores, and dined at several of its restaurants. That’s why I decided to write this article—to share my experiences visiting Cevahir Mall Istanbul with you.

Access ways and opening hours of Cevahir Mall Istanbul

Cevahir Shopping Center Istanbul | My reviews + Access way

Accessing this shopping mall by metro is very easy, which is why I always use the metro to get there. To reach Cevahir Mall, all I did was take the M2 metro line, and after passing a few stations, I got off at Şişli station. After a 5-minute walk, I arrived at the shopping mall.

You can also take the M2 Yenikapı – Hacıosman train and get off at the “Şişli / Mecidiyeköy” stop. The “Şişli” exit will directly lead you to Cevahir AVM.

Additionally, suppose you plan to go to this shopping center by metro bus. In that case, you should know that you can take the “Avcılar – Zincirlikuyu – Söğütlüçeşme” Metrobus routes and get off at Mecidiyeköy Metrobus station. From there, a short walk will bring you to Cevahir AVM.

I never drove to this shopping mall due to the heavy traffic in Istanbul, but if you plan to visit in your car, you should know that there is a parking lot available, and you can use it for free for up to 3 hours.

One thing to keep in mind is that Cevahir Shopping Center is about 3.5 kilometers from Taksim Square and approximately 45 kilometers from Sabiha Gökçen Airport. It’s also around 40 kilometers from the new Istanbul Airport.

Fortunately, this shopping mall is never closed, and according to information on Google Maps, it’s open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. However, from my experience, on weekends, the mall stays open until midnight so that you can visit it even later.

Istanbul Cevahir Reviews

Cevahir Shopping Center Istanbul | My reviews + Access way + Shops

The first time I stepped into this mall, I was surprised by the sheer number of people there. I had visited many shopping centers in Istanbul before, but none were as crowded as this one. Since Cevahir is located in one of the best areas of Istanbul and sells almost everything you can think of, a large number of people visit it daily.

To enter the mall, you must pass through a security gate where all your belongings are checked, and security officers ensure that you aren’t carrying any weapons. On hectic days, you might have to wait in line for a few minutes to get through the security gate.

The mall has a medium size and consists of 6 floors. Each time I visited, I spent around 5 hours exploring its various sections, including shops, restaurants, and entertainment areas. I recommend setting aside 4 to 5 hours for your visit so that you can explore its key areas, which I will introduce in the following sections.

During my time at the mall, I visited several stores and bought a few items of clothing. As a fan of the Zara brand, the first store I entered was Zara, where I purchased a pair of blue jeans for 1,000 lira. Since I hadn’t spent too much on the jeans and still had some money left, I decided to buy something from one of Turkey’s well-known luxury brands. So, I went to the Vakko store located on the 4th floor and bought a suit for an event I was invited to, which cost me 70,000 lira. Vakko is one of the most expensive stores in this mall, and for more information about it, you can visit the Vakko website.

One of the drawbacks I noticed about this mall is the outdated restrooms. Since the mall opened in 2005, the toilets are old and, in my opinion, need renovation and upgrading.

However, one of the strengths of this mall is the availability of locker rentals. You can rent a locker to store your purchases, allowing you to continue shopping without the hassle of carrying everything around. For more information on locker rentals, you can ask questions at the information desk on the 3rd floor.

List of shops in Cevahir

However, it’s worth mentioning that luxury brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton do not have branches in Cevahir. If you’re looking to shop at luxury brands, you’ll need to visit “Zorlu Center.”

Restaurants in Cevahir Mall

Cevahir Shopping Center

Around 40 cafes and restaurants are located on the 5th and 6th floors of the mall. After shopping, when you’re feeling hungry, you can visit one of them. Below is a list of some of the cafes and restaurants available:

I highly recommend trying this delicious combination to refresh yourself after a day of shopping.

There is also a children’s playground in the mall, so you can drop off your kids at the start of your visit, letting them play while you enjoy your shopping experience.

All in all

In my opinion, visiting Cevahir Mall is worth it. Even if you don’t intend to shop, I suggest you visit this mall and enjoy its beauty and beautiful architecture while walking through it.

I give this mall an 8 out of 10 because the toilets were not good, and they didn’t have French luxury brands in that mall.
