If you have been to the Bakırköy area of Istanbul, even if you are not interested in mall hopping, you still cannot ignore Capacity Shopping Center. This shopping center is considered the beating heart of this area. Its unique architecture, stunning lighting, and elegant atmosphere have turned Capacity into one of the standout attractions of this district.
In addition to bringing together reputable Turkish and international brands, high-quality dining spaces are also located within the complex, providing a unique experience for visitors.
During my visit to this shopping center, I clearly noticed that stylish women from all over the world had come here and were busy shopping. At that moment, I told myself that I must share my experience of this visit with other women so they, too, can gain comprehensive and useful information about this shopping center.

The stunning beauty of the lighting and the artistic use of greenery in a commercial complex were truly valuable for a tourist like me. The water fountains, shimmering with a combination of light and color, created a unique and captivating scene.
With enough time for shopping and a lot of excitement, I followed my usual habit of first exploring what surprises this shopping center had in store for me. After browsing the official website and speaking with the staff, I discovered that Capacity houses 182 stores featuring both international and Turkish brands, successfully attracting many enthusiasts daily.
Most of the stores in Capacity Shopping Center were located in the basement floors, particularly on floor -1. Unfortunately, many of the stores on the top floor had not yet begun their operations. Throughout the shopping center, the red Turkish flag was prominently displayed in various spots.
The food and beverage section of Capacity was fully operational, featuring around 33 restaurant branches spread across different floors of the shopping center. However, there was only one supermarket, named Migros MMM, in such a large complex, which I found puzzling—why aren’t there more?
Capacity Shopping Center also included 11 cinemas, and various entertainment programs were organized in this complex for different age groups. I took the time to thoroughly explore each one. You might be curious to learn more about the stores here, too.

My Shopping Experience at Capacity Shopping Center
From the very beginning, I intended to buy something memorable during my visit to Capacity Shopping Center. After thinking for a while, I remembered I needed a light-colored men’s shirt and decided to head to the Avva store, located on the ground floor. As soon as I entered, I didn’t feel lost at all; the store’s layout was perfectly organized.
The shirt displayed on the mannequin—a light cotton shirt with pink buttons—immediately caught my eye. I bought the same shirt in my size for 885.99 lira.
I had also promised my sister’s lovely little daughter, Alisa, a sporty tracksuit. The best option was the B&G Store. I couldn’t believe that most of the clothes in this store were on a 50% discount. I purchased a beige Tyess tracksuit (pants and sweatshirt) for 399.50 lira, whereas the original price of this high-quality set was 799.00 lira. I was happy with my purchases, but hunger started to set in—it was time to eat.

As I mentioned earlier, there are 33 branches for food and beverages located on various floors of Capacity Shopping Center. Finding stores that served drinks and coffee was visually quite easy. However, figuring out which restaurant offered sushi or where to find the best pizza took a bit more time.
To save you time, I’ve prepared a categorization of restaurants in the shopping center. After several hours of walking and exploring the mall, you can refer to the table below to choose a restaurant that suits your taste.
Since I was craving a high-calorie burger sandwich, it was the perfect opportunity to break my diet for a day and indulge in some food. I headed to Burger King, which, in reality, was far more than just a burger place. It was a spacious and diverse café-restaurant. A significant part of the menu was dedicated to burgers, and I ordered a Double Cheeseburger. I paid 690 lira for this delicious burger, which completely satisfied me.
Entertainment at Capacity Shopping Center
Several special events were held at Capacity Shopping Center, some designed for ages 11 to 17, while others were family-oriented. On the other hand, there were plenty of events for adults as well.
One interesting event that I believe is particularly useful for children is the “Hello to School Event”, which is usually held on August 30th every year. This event provides fun and educational activities for students who are about to experience school for the first time.
Additionally, a series of cooking, Zumba fitness, and music workshops are organized on September 27th each year at this center. If you happen to be at Capacity Shopping Center on this date, I recommend participating in one of these workshops.
Capacity Shopping Center also has 11 cinemas, each screening newly released movies at different showtimes. You can visit the cinema to purchase a ticket for the movie of your choice.
Facilities at Capacity Shopping Center
Capacity Shopping Center was an exceptional complex that effectively met the needs of its visitors. The parking area was free for up to 3 hours, and everything appeared spotlessly clean, thanks to the responsible maintenance teams working throughout the complex.
Several ATM machines were installed in various sections of the shopping center. Additionally, there were massage chairs in a dedicated area for those who wanted to rest and relax, providing a comfortable space for visitors.
One of the standout features of this shopping center was the availability of wheelchairs for individuals with mobility issues. The directional signs in some floors were genuinely helpful and comprehensive, ensuring a more convenient experience for visitors.
Access and Visiting Hours
To reach Capacity Shopping Center, simply take the M3 metro line and get off at the Bakırköy Sahil station. After a 10-minute walk, you will arrive at this shopping center.

Conclusion
Everything I expected from a shopping center, I found at Capacity Shopping Center. Perhaps I should mention that finding the restrooms in this complex was a bit confusing, but the center’s strengths far outweighed this minor issue. I ended up spending 3 full hours exploring and enjoying the experience.
From my perspective, Capacity Shopping Center owes much of its fame to its high-quality restaurants.
