Marmara Park Shopping Center Of Istanbul | Review + Location

Marmara Park Shopping Center in Istanbul, known as the first shopping center with a galactic theme in this city, has garnered much attention with its unique architecture.
The dazzling lighting, diverse mirror designs on the exterior facade, and the use of sculptures with galactic symbols such as stars and the moon in its interior all come together to justify this title for the complex.
My initial motivation to visit this center was to admire its extraordinary architecture. However, upon entering the complex, I realized that Marmara Park seamlessly combines shopping and entertainment experiences.
For this reason, I decided to share my exploration of this shopping center in the form of this article.
A Brief Introduction to Marmara Park Shopping Center
Table of Contents

Marmara Park Shopping Center in Istanbul is located in the Esenyurt district on the western side of the city and is considered one of the largest shopping centers in Istanbul.
This complex spans four floors and houses over 200 stores, offering a wide range of Turkish domestic brands and renowned international labels across various categories such as fashion, clothing, home appliances, decoration, accessories, and jewelry.
On the first floor, you’ll find stores dedicated to clothing, cosmetics, health products, bags, and shoes, catering to the diverse needs of shoppers.
The second floor boasts a variety of restaurants and cafes, offering a delightful dining and beverage experience. Additionally, there is a currency exchange office on this floor, where you can Exchange your money. However, I personally found that the exchange rates here are slightly higher compared to exchange offices in the city center.

The shopping center also includes well-known hypermarkets like Migros and Carrefour, making it convenient for purchasing daily essentials.
The parking facility, with a capacity of 4,000 vehicles, offers free parking for up to 3 hours, which is one of the standout features of this center.

According to information retrieved from Marmara Park’s official website, the shopping center spans an area of 27,000 square meters. Although it is located 37 kilometers away from Taksim Square, making it a bit distant from the city center, the extensive amenities and diverse range of stores make it well worth a visit.

My Shopping Experience at Marmara Park

With my mother’s birthday approaching and her particular fondness for jewelry, I decided to visit the Marmarapark So Chic store located on the first floor of Marmara Park Shopping Center.
After exploring the diverse collection in the store, I selected a beautiful necklace featuring an eye design and turquoise stones, perfectly matching my taste. I purchased it for 7,740 TL.
The store manager personally welcomed me and attended to all the details with care and patience. Additionally, the professional and responsible demeanor of the other staff members was highly satisfactory.
If you are looking for high-quality jewelry with unique designs, I highly recommend visiting this store.

Since I spend a considerable amount of time walking daily, I needed a comfortable yet high-quality pair of sandals. For this reason, I visited the New Balance sports store on the second floor of Marmara Park Shopping Center.
The store was filled with a wide variety of shelves showcasing shoes, sneakers, sandals, and other sportswear. In terms of diversity, it left nothing to be desired.
I purchased a pair of black orthopedic New Balance sandals, which were on sale, for 974 TL. The design of the products was stylish and modern; however, I felt that the store’s layout could have been more organized. One thing that caught my attention was the incomplete size availability for many models, which could be inconvenient for some shoppers.
Nevertheless, the quality and durability of New Balance products are truly commendable and well-known. Although I found the prices to be a bit high, if you are looking for comfort and quality, this store can be a great choice.

Before visiting Marmara Shopping Center, I had read a lot on the internet about the variety of books at D & R Store, and since I had previously been familiar with Bookstore in Istanbul, I knew that this brand was popular in Istanbul.
While the variety of books was impressive, I found the labeling and shelf organization to be lacking, which made locating the books on my list quite challenging. I eventually had to seek assistance from the store staff.
In the end, I managed to find six books on my list and spent approximately 400 TL on my purchase. Although the shopping experience was satisfying due to the quality and variety of products, I hope that improvements in labeling and shelf organization will make the book-finding process easier for customers in the future.

These establishments are categorized into three main sections: ice cream and beverages, restaurants, and fast-food outlets. The architecture and exterior advertising of each shop are designed in a way that makes it easy to identify the type of products offered. This smart layout saved me considerable time in finding my preferred dining spot.
To make it easier for you, I’ve compiled a list of some notable dining options at Marmara Park:

My Dining Experience at Marmara Park

After exploring the third floor of Marmara Park, I decided to have a meal at one of the restaurants on the same level. The appealing look of TAVUK DÜNYASI, with its balloon decorations at the entrance, caught my attention.
The restaurant was bustling with activity, and the queue for food was notably long. Upon inquiry, I discovered that the main reason for its popularity was the affordable pricing of its meals compared to other restaurants in the shopping center.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly and satisfying dining experience, TAVUK DÜNYASI is definitely worth considering.
I ordered a combination plate consisting of pasta, spicy grilled chicken, and salad with cheese for 700 liras.
Unfortunately, it took more than 35 minutes for my food to be prepared, and when it finally arrived, it was cold.
Although the staff’s exhaustion due to the overwhelming crowd at the restaurant was understandable, I had expected the food to be served hot.
The taste of the food was relatively good, and I enjoyed its flavor. However, contrary to the praises I had heard, the prices were not significantly lower compared to other restaurants in the shopping center and weren’t as affordable as claimed.
After the somewhat unsatisfactory experience at TAVUK DÜNYASI, I decided to visit Boble Bubble Tea to unwind, as I had previously had a pleasant experience with this brand.
This time, I ordered a cup of matcha tea for 60 liras and felt my energy and calmness returning.
If you’re interested in trying this brand, I recommend tasting their caramel milk tea as well. Based on my previous experience, it’s truly flavorful and delightful.
Access to Marmara Shopping Center

Marmara Park Shopping Center in Istanbul welcomes both local visitors and international tourists daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. For a comfortable and less crowded visit, the best time to go to this shopping center is during the early hours of weekdays, as Marmara Park becomes very crowded in the afternoons, on holidays, and over the weekends.
Marmara Park Shopping Center in Istanbul is more convenient for those staying on the European side of the city. If your starting point and accommodation are in Taksim Square, the trip to this shopping center by taxi takes approximately one hour. This distance may diminish the appeal of visiting it, as you would need to spend considerable time and money to get there.
For this reason, I recommend always visiting shopping centers closer to your hotel to save time and have a more comfortable and cost-effective experience.
To reach this shopping center from Taksim Square, you must first take the M2 metro line towards MecidiyeköyStation. After disembarking there, switch to the Metrobus, known as Metrobus Hattı (IETT), and head towards Marmara Park. Get off at the Beylikdüzü Metrobüs station and, after a few minutes of walking, you will arrive at the shopping center.

Final Thoughts
In my opinion, the stores at Marmara Park Shopping Center in Istanbul were very comprehensive and diverse, making it easy to find everything I needed.
Additionally, the other services provided for customer convenience and satisfaction, such as wheelchairs, specialized strollers for children, a mosque, internet access points, lockers, and a children’s play area, made my shopping experience more comfortable and enjoyable.
However, the one-hour distance from this shopping center to the city center is, in my view, a drawback.
If you don’t have enough time to visit Marmara Park or are looking for closer options, I suggest exploring other shopping centers in Istanbul that are more accessible.
