Why You Should Not Visit Solar Beach Istanbul?

Visiting one of the Black Sea beaches in the north of Istanbul was one of the things I did in the last days of my trip to Istanbul.

On one of the hot summer days, I decided to go to Kilyos and Solar Beach and enjoy swimming in one of the quietest and most expensive beaches in Istanbul.

Since I knew that this was a family beach and single men were not allowed to enter alone, I decided to go to this beach with my Turkish friend Fatima. I paid 1000 lira to enter this beach on the weekend, but after talking to the lifeguards, I found out that it costs 600 lira to enter this beach in the middle of the week.

Before I went to this beach, I thought that Solar Beach was one of the best beaches in Istanbul, but after a few hours of reaching this beach, I realized that this beach was not as good as I thought.

This beach is one of the average beaches in Istanbul, and since it is far from the city center and the entrance fee is expensive, it is not worth visiting, in my opinion. Instead of visiting this beach, it is better to see beaches like Florya Beach in Istanbul.

I swam in the Black Sea for about an hour. The seawater was clean and clear, but the sea was not calm at all, and there were many waves.

After swimming, I went to the sunbeds and umbrellas that were present all over the beach and rested a little. One thing you should know is that you don’t need to pay a separate fee to use the sunbeds. The negative thing I have to mention is that the sunbeds did not have mattresses, and sleeping on them bothered me.

Solar Beach was clean, and unlike the public beaches of Istanbul, it was not full of cigarette residues. In my opinion, this was one of the positive points about this beach.

This beach is one of the quietest beaches in Istanbul, and I recommend going there only to those who are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and want to relax for a few hours in peace and watch the ships in the Black Sea.

This beach is not suitable for young people who are looking for parties and DJs because there are no parties and celebrations.

The negative point of this beach is that there are no water sports like jet skiing, and in my opinion, this is one of its disadvantages.

In my opinion, the facilities at this beach were not extraordinary, and they were similar to other average beaches in Istanbul. There are cabanas and VIP sunbeds on this beach, for which you have to pay a separate fee.

There are also restaurants and bars on this beach where you can buy alcoholic beverages. The price of beer on this beach is about 200 lira, which is expensive, in my opinion.

The quality of the food in this beach restaurant was also not very good, and the food I got was full of fat, and that’s why I couldn’t eat it all.

I still believe that visiting this beach is not worth it. Instead, you can visit other beaches in Istanbul that offer better services and entertainment.

Solar Beach is a big beach with many sunbeds that you can use. If you are looking for a large and secluded beach to sunbathe and watch the view of the Black Sea, I suggest you visit this beach.

Working hours and address

This beach is open every day from 9 am to 7 pm, and to get there, it is better to take a taxi because it is about 70 km away from the city.

At the end of the line

This beach is located near Kumköy, which you have to pass through to get to this beach. Along the way, you can see various shops and houses and buy the things you need to relax on the beach, such as swimwear or food.

If you have any questions about this beach, you can ask me in the comments section so I can get your answer as soon as possible.
