Must-see places in Kaş
Kaş Ancient Theater

Right in the center of town, overlooking the sea, is a beautiful ancient theater that will totally captivate you. Built during the Lycian period, it once held around 4,000 people. These days, it’s especially popular at sunset. Sit on the stone steps and watch the sea stretch out before you—it’s a moment you’ll never forget. And if the sky turns red as the sun sets, the vibe is just unbeatable.

Patara Ancient City

Located between Fethiye and Kalkan in the village of Gelemiş. Patara was one of the oldest and most important cities of Lycia and even served as the capital of the Lycian League. It’s also home to the oldest surviving democratic assembly building. Definitely add this to your list of places to explore near Kaş.
Saklıkent Canyon

If the summer heat gets to you, hop in the car and take a 45-minute drive to Saklıkent Canyon. It’s the perfect spot to cool down and have an adventure. You’ll step into icy water and walk through the canyon, with water levels sometimes reaching your knees or even your waist. But the scenery is so amazing, you won’t care. Don’t forget to bring proper water shoes—or you’ll be exhausted after five minutes!
Kaş Marina

One of the liveliest parts of Kaş. In the morning it’s quiet, but in the evening it comes alive—boats light up, music starts playing. From here, you can take daily boat trips to Kekova, the Sunken City, and other famous coves. It’s a great place to people-watch—whether they’re having ice cream, seafood, or sipping wine while watching the sunset. If you’re in Kaş, you’ll definitely end up here at some point.
King’s Tomb

While walking around Kaş, you might suddenly find yourself in front of a historic tomb. It’s right in the middle of town, standing in the street. Made of stone, with two lion figures on top, it’s also known as the “Lion Sarcophagus.” It’s a Lycian tomb dating back 2,500 years and is so well-preserved, it looks like it was built yesterday. Especially in the evening, with soft lighting, it’s even more impressive.
Sunken City of Kekova

If you’ve got more time, head to Kekova. You can get there by land or even by sea kayak. This ancient city was submerged due to natural disasters and stretches deep into the island. Nobody lives on the island now, and you can only visit by boat. Swimming and diving in the ruins area is forbidden, but boats pass slowly so you can see the ruins from above.
Xanthos Ancient City

One of the most important Lycian cities, Xanthos is located about 40 km from Kaş. It served as the Lycian capital in its early days and is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Kaleköy & Simena Ancient City

Kaleköy dates back to the 4th century BC and is a small village built on the ruins of Simena. It’s located on a peninsula, so most people get there by boat, which gives it an island-like feel. It’s a common stop for boat tours from Kaş or Üçağız. You can even stay overnight at one of the guesthouses and enjoy a peaceful stay. This place is one of the rare spots where nature and history are totally intertwined. Before you leave, don’t miss canoeing around the tomb in the water, climbing to the ruins of Simena, and tasting their amazing homemade ice cream.
Beaches of Kaş

The beaches in Kaş are a paradise for cooling off in the crystal-clear Mediterranean and soaking up the sun. Each one offers a unique experience and is perfect for both relaxation and water activities. Here’s my list of the best beaches in Kaş:
