How Did I Go To Uzunya Beach Istanbul? Entrance fees + Facilities

Uzunya Beach Istanbul is one of the Black Sea beaches located north of Istanbul in Demirciköy, next to Kilyos. I decided to visit it on one of the hot summer days I was in Istanbul.

How did I go to Uzunya Beach, Istanbul?

To go to this beach, I first went to Sarıyer and boarded bus number 151 at Sarıyer Merkez bus station. I went to this beach and got off the bus at Sinemköy Sitesi station. I reached this beach on a short walk.

The entire path was full of forest and greenery, and I took a pleasant route to reach this beach.

Entrance fees and opening hours of Uzunya Beach

Before I went to this beach, I knew nothing about the rule that single men are not allowed to enter this beach because there was no information about this anywhere, so I had gone to this beach alone until I realized this when I bought the ticket.

Fortunately, when I entered this beach, I met a lady named Suzan, and I told her that I would pay for her ticket on the condition that she would join the beach with me. She also accepted my condition, and we entered the beach together.

The entrance fee to this beach was 600 TL at the end of the week and 400 TL in the middle of the week, and since I went to this beach on the weekend, I paid 1200 TL to buy a ticket for two people.

The working hours of this beach are from 9:00 am to 11:30 pm, and you can only swim in the sea until sunset.

How is the environment of Uzunya Beach Istanbul?

When I entered this beach, I saw one of the strangest things. Because the beach was surrounded by grass instead of sand. Of course, there was soft golden sand near the sea, but the grass around the beach shocked me!

Rocks and mountains surround this small beach, and it is a perfect place for people looking for a quiet place to relax because not many people visit this beach, which is one of the most secluded beaches in Istanbul.

One of the negative points of this beach is that there is a lot of algae in the sea, which made me not enjoy swimming there. Also, there were annoying flies on the beach during some hours of the day, making eating difficult. Of course, the beach and grass were clean, and it was a pleasure to relax there.

Beach facilities

At the very beginning, I must mention that there are no sunbeds on this beach, but instead, there are cushions and pillows that you can sit on under the umbrellas and eat the food you bought from the restaurant on this beach.

There is a restaurant on this beach, which is expensive like other restaurants on the beaches of Istanbul.

I bought a beer for 350 lire, fries for 250 lire, and a cheeseburger for 650 lire from this restaurant, which was of acceptable quality.

There are toilets and showers on this beach that you can use, but I must mention that the showers do not have hot water, and you have to shower with cold water.

For swimming in the sea, there is a platform on this beach that is connected to a boat, and you can stand on that platform and ask the boat driver to take you to the middle of the sea and jump from the platform into the sea, and swim and have fun in the Black Sea.

What you should observe while swimming?

Since this beach is one of the Black Sea beaches, the phenomenon of rip currents may occur there and cause you to drown while swimming. If you don’t want to drown while swimming there, I suggest you read the article “Can You Swim In The Black Sea Turkey” to learn more about this.
