Things You Should Know Before Traveling to Turkey in April

During my stay in April in Turkey, I visited all the cities mentioned in the table above. If you’re looking for a city with warm and sunny weather where you can sunbathe on the beach and walk around in comfortable clothes, I recommend visiting Antalya. However, if you’re looking for a cooler city, be sure to visit Istanbul or Cappadocia. Just keep in mind to bring an umbrella with you when traveling to these two cities, as you may experience rainy days on occasion.

Appropriate Clothing for Religious Cities in Turkey

Since Turkey is a Muslim country, when packing your clothes for the trip, you should consider certain cultural aspects. If you plan to visit the eastern cities of Turkey, I recommend packing more modest clothing to show respect for local customs. People in these areas tend to place greater importance on traditional and Islamic attire. However, if your destination is the western cities of Turkey, there’s no need to worry about dressing modestly. Due to the high number of tourists, the locals in these regions are less sensitive about the way travelers dress.

Another important thing to remember is that when entering mosques in Turkey, regardless of the city, you must adhere to the dress code. Women are required to wear headscarves, and men are not allowed to enter wearing shorts. This shows respect for the local traditions and religious rules that apply in all mosques in Turkey, no matter which city you are in.

Final Remarks

In general, it’s worth mentioning that the weather in Turkish cities in April is mild—neither too cold nor too warm. As you saw in the pictures above, some people wear short sleeves while others prefer long sleeves or thicker clothing. The choice of suitable clothing depends on your personal habits. You should select your clothes based on your sensitivity to cold or heat to ensure your comfort during the trip.
